Top tips for designing and delivering questionnaires NIHR ARC West course

Are you considering using a questionnaire in an evaluation or audit project? Would you like to know the common pitfalls of questionnaire design and how to maximise your response rate?

NIHR ARC West’s online materials give a rapid introduction to designing simple questionnaires to gather data, sharing the top tips from their former one-day course.

The materials are aimed at people working in all areas of health and social care and are particularly suitable for anyone new to working with questionnaires. The content includes:

• Writing questions and simple ways to test these out
• What to think about when administering your questionnaire and tips to boost response rates
• Getting ready for analysing the data

The materials consist of recorded slide presentations that you can watch at your convenience (total time to watch: 75 mins but can be watched in shorter sections). There are short (optional) activities to complete during the presentations to help embed the learning.
